Basic course in photography (group lesson)

I give this course via Parnassos Cultural Centre in Utrecht. You will work three 6-hour days with your teacher and fellow course members. The next course day is 2 weeks after the first. It is ideal for students who want to get rid of 'the automatic' and get more out of their camera. Have you ever done a photography course and are you looking for a refresher? Then this course is also for you!

Programme

Day 1

In the morning you get theory: how do you get a camera under control? You learn how to look at light and how to expose it. In the afternoon, we get to work in a practical way with various assignments.

Day 2

Discussion of the photos submitted on day 1. New theory about composition, using different focus possibilities. In the afternoon, back to work in a practical way.

Day 3

Inspiration based on examples. In the afternoon, practical work.

Portrait photography (group lesson)

I give this course via Parnassos Cultural Centre. You will work two 6-hour days with your teacher and fellow students. The second course day is in principle 2 weeks after the first. This course is meant for people who master the basic technique and who want to make better portraits.

Day 1

Theory technique and composition, direction and posing. Inspiration and practice on the basis of assignments.

Day 2

Discussion of the photos submitted on day 1. New theory about light: existing light, artificial light and light shapers. Practice lesson: practising with existing light, studio light and combinations thereof

Light! (group lesson)

This workshop is all about light. Do you want to know more about torch, light formers, how to combine artificial light and existing light? Do you want to get inspired? This workshop consists of a theoretical and a practical part. Two evenings or two half-days. Dates still to be planned. You can already let us know if you are interested. Click here.

Getting to know the camera (individual)

You have bought a nice camera or received a gift. You have no idea about all the possibilities and what all the settings mean. What about exposure? Why are my photos too light or too dark and what can I do about that? And all those autofocus options?
Of course, your camera comes with a manual and you can find a lot of things on the Internet. But would anyone be able to show you the way without having to take a whole course? Look no further!
I can help you get started and work with you. First we go through the settings and set up the camera so that you can work with it. Then we go out and shoot together. Location is up to you.

Tailor-made training (individual)

You have been photographing for a while and have run into a lot of practical questions. Of course you can look everything up on Youtube, but that is different from going directly to work with a professional. After an intake via Zoom or telephone, I will make a tailor-made plan that will enable you to take new steps.
